Birds And More 013 - Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) Butterfly

Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) can be seen in the U.K. almost throughout the year, from Spring when they start migrating from Europe or North Africa. In June / July the fresh butterfles emerges from the laid eggs and then they fly back to spend winters back in North Africa. 

Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) is a large butterfly, mostly black, with red broad stripes on the hindwings and forewings, and white spots near the tips of the forewings.
