Birds And More 011 - Buff-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus terrestris)
Buff-tailed bumblebee (Bombus terrestris) is one of the main species used in greenhouse pollination and in one of the most numerous bumblebee species in Europe. It is eusocial insect, the queen only mates with only one male.
They are named after the buff-coloured tail of their queen, as the worker bees have almost white tails, which makes them easy to mistake for white-tailed bumblebees. (src: The Wildlife Trusts)
