The Great Mormon (Papilio memnon) is a species of large butterflies distributed widely in different countries of South and Southeast Asia. They belong to the family of ‘swallowtail’ butterflies and has 13 sub-species spread across it's range.
Sexual diamorphism is distinctly present, males are dark-deep blue to black in color with some having red streaks on the fore-wings. Females are polymorphic and with different forms (mimetic) - atleast 26 forms have been recorded.
