Common Linnet (Linaria cannabina) is a shy and nervous bird and difficult to approach. Often seen on the ground or in low bushes. Outside of the breeding season, they are seen in flocks and at times form large roosts in the evening. They have got an unusual seed-eating habit. The Male has unmarked chestnut back, crimson patches on either side of the breast, crimson forehead, and grey head. The Female is more streaky and lacks any crimson marks.
