Scaly-breasted Munia तेलिया मुनिया, टिपकेवाली मुनिया (Lonchura punctulata) Taken on January 15, 2018 Location: Sanjivini Nagar, Jabalpur, India (Latitude: 23.172826, Longitude: 79.881881)  Scaly-breasted Munia तेलिया मुनिया, टिपकेवाली मुनिया (Lonchura punctulata)  known in the pet trade as nutmeg mannikin or spice finch, is a sparrow-sized estrildid finch native to tropical Asia. It is the same size as  0062. Red avadavat or Red Munia (Estrilda amandava) लाल मुनिया  but has a pointed tail. In non-breeding and immature plumages both sexes are more or less plain brown.  Scaly-breasted Munia (Lonchura punctulata) तेलिया मुनिया, टिपकेवाली मुनिया Sanjivini Nagar, Jabalpur Scaly-breasted munias form flocks of as many as 100 birds. Individuals communicate with calls that include a short whistle, variations of kitty-kitty-kitty, and a sharp chipping alarm note. They hop on the ground gleaning grass seeds and occasionally feast on winged termites and ants as they emerge from rain-moist soils.

The beak is red, with black point. Like other lapwings they are ground birds that are incapable of perching. Their characteristic loud alarm calls are indicators of human or animal movements and the sounds have been variously rendered as did he do it or pity to do it. Long-tailed Shrike (कजला लटोरा) - Lanius schach Taken on January 15, 2018 Location: Sanjivini Nagar, Jabalpur, India (Latitude: 23.172826, Longitude: 79.881881)  Long-tailed Shrike (कजला लटोरा) is sound scrubby areas and near cultivation. Winter visitor to southern parts of the Indian Subcontinent. It has some resemblances to the grey shrikes, sharing the pearl grey head and mantle and black mask extending from the forehead, through the eye, and to the ear coverts. Among the shrikes, they breed at the highest altitude. The Long-tailed Shrike (Lanius schach)  कजला लटोरा is a typical shrike, favoring dry open habitats and found perched atop a bush or on a wire. Brahminy Starling कालासिर मैना, चन्ना हुडी, ब्रह्मिणी  मैना , पुहिआ, चुटिया बनि (Sturnia pagodarum) is pale buff creamy with a black cap and a loose crest. The bill is yellow with a bluish base. The iris is pale and there is a bluish patch of skin around the eye. The outer tail feathers have white and the black primaries of the wings do not have any white patches. Male Pied Bushchat (काला पिद्दा) - Saxicola caprata The Pied Bushchat काला पिद्दा  (Saxicola caprata)  is slightly smaller than the Oriental Magpie Robin  दहियर, काली सुई चिड़िया (Copsychus saularis) , about the size of a sparrow.   Although it has a similar dumpy structure and upright stance. The male is jet-black except for a white rump, wing patch and lower belly. The white patch on the wings is more prominent in flight.  The female  Pied Bushchat  काला पिद्दा  (Saxicola caprata) is plain earth-brown with a pale rust coloured rump.  Often seen in open countryside and around cultivation, perched on bushtops and reed stems. It makes frequent little darts to the ground to pick up a fly, moth or a bug. Its sorties are very similar to fly-catchers. Among the Toda people in the Nilgiris, the pied bushchat or kāŗpiłc, is a bird of omen and the origin of its white wing patches is described in a story of a dairy priest who in the ritual of churning milk forgot to remove the churning stick
