Birds Around Me 0001 - Waxwings (Bombycilla garrulus)
Waxwings (Bombycilla garrulus) Taken on January 18, 2011 Location: Hemel Hempstead, UK (Latitude: 51.760305, Longitude: -0.436224) This is the bird that got me in to photographing Birds Around Me. It is such a beautiful bird that you can watch them for hours. It has a prominent crest and is reddish-brown with a black throat, a small black mask round its eye. The yellow and white in the wings and a yellow-tipped tail make it very distinctive. I photographed these in Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom behind our office car park.
