Birds Around Me 0184 - Common Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita)
Common Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita) is olive-green warbler, underparts pale but rather drab. A pale eye-rin, though not very prominent, is often more obvious that the pale eyebrow. Both sexes are similar, juvenile same as adult but a bit brighter. Often seen flicking its tail and wings.
Common Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita) is summer visitor to the U.K., spend most winter around the Mediterranean or in Africa, south of Sahara. A small number spends winter in the U.K. as well. Easily confused with Willow Warbler, and when not singing best separated by dark legs and predominatly dark bill.
