Taken on December 29, 2017
Location: Hemel Hempstead, UK (Latitude: 51.743910, Longitude: -0.493913)
The Redwing (Turdus iliacus) is the smallest among thrushes and a winter bird in the UK. Often seen in the bushes and trees throughout the day feeding on fruits, but comes down on grass during the evening feeding on worms. Redwings are an abundant winter visitor to the British Isles, the breeding population is confined mainly to the Scottish Highlands north of the Great Glen.
The photograph in this post was clicked when a flock of 6 Redwing (Turdus iliacus) was feeding on the cricket ground and I was coming back from a birding walk.
