Lemsford Springs, a spring-fed lagoon, by Lemsford Village, Welwyn Garden City, is a small reserve perfect for wading birds. The reserve is about 4.5-5 hectares and has a few habitats, shallow lagoons, marsh, woodland, hedgerow, etc. Winter is the ideal time for birdwatching here, as it does not freeze in the cold. Waders love it here, as they feed on freshwater shrimps.
