Birds And More 014 - Jersey Tiger (Euplagia quadripunctaria) Moth
Jersey Tiger (Euplagia quadripunctaria) is an attractive moth found mainly on the Channel Islands, recently in some parts of south coast of England. It has also been spotted in parts of London.
Jersey Tiger is a daytime moth, can been seen feeding on various flowers and sometimes at night time in the well lit areas.
Jersey Tiger is also called Spanish Flag, and is the only lepidopteran which has been designated as a 'priority species' under Annex II of the Habitats Directive in the European Union, as of 1992, which means areas in which it occurs can be declared Special Areas of Conservation.
