Birds Around Me 0093 - Pied Kingfisher (Ceryle rudis / कौरियला)
The Pied Kingfisher (Ceryle rudis/कौरियला) is found widely distributed across Africa and Asia. Its black and white plumage, crest and the habit of hovering over clear lakes and rivers before diving for fish make it distinctive.
Pied Kingfisher came as a surprise to me and has only been able to see and photograph once. I didn't know what I clicked and took me good few hours to find it out. This picture has lovely memories, not great click hope to replace this soon with a proper one.
